Timber Retaining Walls
Pressure treated timbers have been used for many
years in the residential landscape to hold back soil
and create raised planting areas. The reasons for
the popular use of timbers are that they are natural
looking with a color that blends into the landscape,
the ease of construction and they are less expensive
to build with than other materials. The main
disadvantage is the relatively short life span of
the timber wall. A timber wall, even when
constructed with quality materials, may start to
deteriorate in fifteen years.
Stone Retaining Walls
Natural stone has been used as retaining walls
and landscape elements for thousands of years and
with good reason. There are many colors and styles
of natural stone walls available. Natural stone can
be dry-stacked or installed with mortar to create
walls and other landscape elements. Each
construction technique has different looks and uses.
Chose a style and type of stone you like and we can
discuss how that stone can be used in your
landscape.

Paver block
retaining walls have in recent years surged in
popularity. This surge in popularity is a result of
the greatly increased colors and styles that are
available today. Paver block retaining walls are
engineered for long life and stability. These
products should last longer than any other wall
product in the landscape.
As with any retaining wall
material, it is important for the installer to
understand the basics of engineering and physics in
order to build a wall that will last for many years.
